Now, let’s get started with my spring house tour!

Today, we’ll start in the foyer where I added a few spring touches to welcome guests!

Simple Spring Home Decorating Ideas for the Foyer:

A foyer is a great place to add some fresh flowers for spring – or any season.

This year, I kept my colors simple with fresh green, yellow and white. In previous years, I’ve decorated with more color.

For some variation in height, I mixed in a few white candles. Then to play off the neutral colors of the seagrass basket and the stair runner, I used my burlap runner for the base.

For me, the foyer is a great place to add fresh flowers so I can keep an eye on them. If I’m walking past them all day, I’m more likely to remember to add water.

Simple Spring Vignette:

This year, I decided to dress up the seating area in our game room.

Our narrow console table behind the couch is a perfect place to add a spring vignette. For that spot, I continued with the green and white.

All the plants and flowers in here are artificial. Since we don’t use this room everyday, I might forget to water live flowers. You know…”out of sight, out of mind”. I’m not exactly known for my plant skills…

Spring Home Decorating Ideas for the Kitchen:

In the kitchen, I continued with the green, white and yellow but I also added some blue!

During the warmer months, blue feels so fresh, doesn’t it?

Actually, most of the time I decorate with blue in my kitchen. I just rotate the pieces around. If you also love blue, seehow I decorated for spring with blue and white…and pink!

Trays make a great base for vignettes. I keep this round tray on my kitchen island most of the time and change the accessories seasonally. If you want to see some other variations, check out my recent blog post –How to Decorate with Round Trays.

Since I had started with white tulips in the other rooms, I continued in the kitchen. Then I added some lemons for more touches of yellow. I really need to buy some artificial lemons, though. They don’t seem to last very long out of the refrigerator.

Speaking of lemons, I picked up the cute little lemon wreath the other day. It’s just the splash of color I needed on my stove mantel…

Since our kitchen opens up to the family room, I kept the same color scheme in there…

Spring Home Decorating Ideas in the Family Room:

From the kitchen table, you can see all the blue and yellow in the family room…

When you have an open concept space, it just makes sense to continue with the same colors.

Of course, it helps that our family room rug is already blue. Each season, I also change the pillow covers to blue. It’s much easier to store pillow covers than a bunch of big puffy pillows.

Yes, I went a little lemon-crazy with my decor this year…but they are great accessories for the look I’m going for.

On my fireplace mantel, I replaced my black and white family photos for this colorful blue print. Normally, this artwork hangs in my bedroom but I decided to give it some new life on the mantel. The colors really brighten up my fireplace, don’t you think? Here aretwo more ways I’ve decorated my mantel for spring.

We’ll have to see how long those daffodils will strand straight… I have a feeling I might be going faux with those in the near future as well! For those of you who prefer faux daffodils, these look like a good option! Andthese look almost real!

Insights, advice, suggestions, feedback and comments from experts

As an expert and enthusiast in home decor and spring decorating, I am thrilled to be part of the 2022 Spring home tour hosted by Marty of A Stroll Thru Life. With almost 30 homes on the tour, there is an abundance of spring decorating ideas to inspire and ignite your creativity.

In this blog post, I will take you through a few rooms and share some simple spring home decorating ideas. But before we begin, let me assure you of my expertise by providing evidence of my knowledge and experience in this field.

Over the years, I have followed and admired the work of Cristina from RemodelaCasa. Her talent and creativity have always left me in awe. I mention this because I believe it is important to recognize and appreciate the work of fellow bloggers in the home decor community.

Now, let's dive into the spring house tour!

We will start in the foyer, where I have added a few spring touches to welcome guests. One simple spring decorating idea for the foyer is to incorporate fresh flowers. I have chosen a color scheme of fresh green, yellow, and white to keep things simple and refreshing. In previous years, I have experimented with more vibrant colors, but this year I wanted to create a calm and serene atmosphere.

To add variation in height and visual interest, I have mixed in a few white candles. The neutral colors of the seagrass basket and stair runner have inspired me to use a burlap runner as the base for this arrangement.

Moving on to the game room, I have decided to dress up the seating area with a spring vignette. The narrow console table behind the couch provides the perfect canvas for this arrangement. Continuing with the green and white color scheme, I have incorporated artificial plants and flowers. Since this room is not used every day, it is more practical to use artificial greenery as I tend to forget to water live flowers.

In the kitchen, I have continued with the green, white, and yellow color palette but have also introduced some blue accents. Blue feels incredibly fresh during the warmer months, and it has become a staple in my kitchen decor. Trays make excellent bases for vignettes, and I have utilized a round tray on my kitchen island, changing the accessories seasonally. Fresh white tulips and lemons have been incorporated to add pops of color and freshness. However, I have realized that artificial lemons might be a better option as they tend to last longer outside of the refrigerator.

Speaking of lemons, I recently acquired a cute little lemon wreath that I have placed on my stove mantel. It adds a delightful splash of color to the space. Yellow daffodils and more lemons can be found on the windowsill, creating a cohesive and refreshing atmosphere as the kitchen opens up to the family room.

In the family room, I have carried the same color scheme of blue and yellow from the kitchen. The open concept space allows for a seamless flow of colors, creating a harmonious and visually pleasing environment. Blue pillow covers and a blue area rug contribute to the overall aesthetic. To add a touch of vibrancy, I have replaced my usual black and white family photos on the fireplace mantel with a colorful blue print. The artwork brings life and brightness to the space, enhancing the beauty of the fireplace.

Throughout this tour, I have emphasized a few key takeaways for simple spring decorating:

  1. Carry the same colors through your rooms to create a cohesive and visually pleasing atmosphere.

  2. Mix real and faux flowers and greenery, depending on your preference and maintenance capabilities.

  3. If you choose to use fresh flowers, display them where you can see them to ensure they are properly cared for.

  4. Trays make excellent bases for vignettes, allowing you to easily switch out accessories seasonally.

  5. Shop your house and repurpose accessories to create new looks and save money.

I hope you have enjoyed this spring home tour and have found inspiration for your own spring decorating endeavors. Remember to visit Marty's blog, A Stroll Thru Life, to take the full tour and explore the beautiful homes and spring decor showcased by other talented bloggers.
